How to configure "Double Up for a Buck" Shortcut
This document will show you how to configure a "Double up for a Buck" discount
- This can be used when the happy hour special is "buy one drink and get a second drink for $1"
- First name the button Double up for a Buck
- An optional Description: Buy one bottled beer get the second one for $1
- You could optionally add a context filter to this shortcut that
- only allows bartenders and servers to apply this discount
- is only available in the bar zone
- Is only available with the dine in order type
First Action: Duplicate Item
- On the terminal it will duplicate the selected item(s), or the last entered unsent item
- On the handheld it will ONLY duplicate the last entered item, that is still unsent (Green)
- It will NOT duplicate an item that was previously sent
Second Action: Price Adjust Item
- On the terminal
it will adjust the price on the selected item(s), or the last entered unsent item Onand the handheld it willONLYprice adjust thelastduplicatedentered item, that is still unsent (Green)It will not price adjust previously sent items
- For this example
iI set the price adjustment to change the price of the item to $1 - I also set an item filter for "Bottled Beer" so the price adjustment is only valid if they duplicate a bottled beer
See it in Action:
- I added the "Double up for a Buck" shortcut to the speedrail so that its easy to find
- When I ring in a bottled beer, it will duplicate it, and then price adjust the second item to $1
- If I ring in an item other than a bottled beer, it will duplicate it, but not price adjust it to $1
