How to hold an item

Hold until you fire it

Placing a hold on something will hold it until YOU press the fire button. This way you can put in an order for an item you don’t want to go to the kitchen right away and then you will need to go back in and fire it when you are ready for it to go to the kitchen.

Once you select the Hold button you will get this pop-up. 
If you click ok, the item will stay on hold until you come back in and fire the item.

 

Hold with a Timer

When Placing a hold on something you can set a timer to have the item automatically send to the kitchen in a number of minutes. You may either select the plus and minus signs to adjust the timer or select the manual input button to be prompted for a number of minutes. 
*Once placed on hold an Item can be fired early at the servers discretion by selecting the item and pressing the fire button from the edit page as shown in the next step. Or will be automatically fired after the desired amount of time expires.

Whichever method you use, when you go to the order view screen, you will see the hour glass icon on the order until the item is sent. 

 

 

 

How to Fire an item

Open the order that has a held item. Select the item, The Fire button will appear in the place that the hold button is. Press the Fire button and the item will turn green and will send to the kitchen when you send the order. 

How to Re-Fire an item

Select the item you'd like to Re-Fire to the kitchen. The Re-Fire button will appear where the hold button was.  The item will turn green and will send to the kitchen when you send the order.

When the item goes to the kitchen it will print in a different font and say "Re-Fire" before the item. So the kitchen staff knows this is an item that was previously ordered.
