This document will show you how to create a Point Rule

  • A Point Rule is a rule that defines how Rewards Members earn points and Rewards

How to create Point Rule

  • From the Rewards Merchant Portal navigate to Points

  • Description: Member Facing Name of the Rule (i.e. Billy’s Bucks)
  • Rule Type:
    • Rolling Type: Members earn points based off of $ Spent. The points reset (Roll) back to 0.00 when the points threshold has been met.

               Example: Earn $10 Reward for every 200 points

    • Continuous Type: Members earn points based off of $ Spent. Points never reset but instead a reward is earned at different point values.

               Example: Earn different rewards at 200, 500, 1000, and 10,000 points.

    • Purchase Points Rule (NO Point Rule): Members earn points based off of $ Spent. Points are used to purchase rewards. When purchased points are withdrawn from the members point balance. Purchase Rewards Plans do not have a Points Rule but instead are configured in the Reward.

              Example: Purchase Free Beer for 100 Points, Purchase Free Entrée Reward for 500 Points.

How to add an email notification

  • Navigate to the Designer tab on the Point Rule Form
  • You can Build an email from the Designer or use an Email Template

How to add a Reward to the Point Rule

  • Navigate to the Rewards tab on the Point Form
  • Select the Reward(s) you would like to issue when the Rolling or Continuous Rule is completed.
