How to refresh cache on a handheld

This document will show how to refresh cache on your handheld.

Refreshing cache on a handheld clears what the handheld has saved and pulls a fresh copy of your menu, employees and settings from the server. Use it when something entered in Backoffice doesn't show up on the handheld.

 

  1. From the login screen tap the gear in the upper left corner.

  2. Tap Reset cache at the bottom of the Settings screen. Local cache cleared shows above the button.

  3. Tap the back arrow and enter your login number. The handheld refreshes before logging in, and the Sign in button shows Updating Cache. This should only take 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Note: If logging in says "You may need to reset cache or update your app version," follow these steps to refresh the cache, then log in again.
